Very early on, when I decided that I was going to ask to get my images autographed, I took my image and paint pen and went to a Charlie Musselwhite show at Harper's Ferry, one of the best blues clubs in the area. I was nervous, in fact I still am shy when approaching a musician for an autograph. Harper's was one of those clubs, and maybe is indicative of the clubs in those days, where you'd see the musician in the club prior to the show. Charlie was extremely approachable when I asked for an autograph and he agreed. On the suggestion of the folks at the camera store I offered some copies of the images to Charlie and he looked them over. Then he brought me over to the friends he was hanging with and introduced me as the guy that took these great pictures. And I was on my way.
